Click 'n' Value

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Click 'n' Value lets you photograph a coin or stamp and get an identification and an estimated value back. This page explains exactly what we collect when you do that, who it goes to, and how to get rid of it.

Click 'n' Value is run by Amit Francis, based in the United Arab Emirates. "We" in this policy means Amit Francis, who is responsible for your data.

The short version

What we collect, and why

Each item below is tied to a specific feature. If a feature does not need a piece of information, we do not ask for it.

Your email address

Collected when you create an account. It is used only to sign you in, to send you a password reset link if you ask for one, and to confirm your address when you register. We do not send marketing email. If you use the free trial scan without signing up, we never see an email address at all.

Photos of your coins and stamps

When you scan an item, the photo is sent to our server and passed to an AI service that reads the details and identifies it. This is the core function of the app — without the photo there is nothing to identify.

We only keep a photo if you save the item to your collection. If you scan something and do not save it, the photo is used for that one identification and is not stored by us. Saved photos are kept in private storage that only your account can read, and are deleted when you delete the item or your account.

Identification and valuation results

If you save an item, we store what the AI returned about it: the type (coin or stamp), country, year, denomination, series, condition notes, the estimated value and the value range. This is what your collection list and CSV export are built from. It exists so you can come back and see what you scanned.

Your IP address

Signed-out visitors get one free scan per day. To count that fairly we need something that identifies a device without an account — otherwise clearing the app's data would reset the limit endlessly.

We do not store your IP address. It is put through a one-way cryptographic hash with a secret key, and only that scrambled result is saved, alongside the date and a count. The original address cannot be recovered from it, and it is not linked to any account.

Basic technical logs

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (things like error messages and request times) so we can find and fix faults. These are not used to profile you.

Who else sees your data

We use three service providers. They process data on our behalf to make the app work — none of them are given your data to use for their own purposes, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Anthropic (Claude API)

Your photo, along with our instructions asking for an identification and a valuation, is sent to Anthropic's Claude API. To price an item accurately the AI may also run web searches — for example, looking up recent sale prices for a matching coin. Those searches are based on what the AI identified in the photo; your email, your account and your collection are never included in a search.

Anthropic processes the image to generate a response and does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.

Supabase

Supabase provides our hosting, database, file storage and sign-in system. Your email address, your saved items, your saved photos and the scan counters all live on Supabase infrastructure.

Resend

Resend delivers the emails the app sends: your address confirmation and any password reset links. It receives your email address for that purpose only.

How long we keep things

Data Kept for
Account and emailUntil you delete your account
Saved items and photosUntil you delete the item, or your account
Photos you scanned but did not saveNot stored by us
Scrambled IP for the trial limitTied to a single day; no longer used after that
Server logsA short period, then automatically discarded

Deleting your account removes your login, your saved items, your stored photos and your scan counter. It is immediate and cannot be undone. You can do it yourself from Account → Delete account in the app — you will be asked for your password to confirm.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have formal rights over your data. Regardless of where you live, we will honour these requests:

Write to the address below and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or make the app worse for you because you exercised a right.

About the valuations

Every identification and price in this app is generated by an AI model, not by a human expert or a certified grading service. Values are estimates and can be wrong. Do not rely on them for insurance, tax, sale or purchase decisions without an independent professional appraisal.

Children

Click 'n' Value is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged in the app itself rather than quietly edited in here.
